Mission - Community
Wide use is made of the Church hall in service to the community when meetings are held regularly by Alcoholics Annonymous and other organisations by rewquest or as necessary.
The church is well represented on various community committees within the town of Carluke such as Christian Aid. Valuable support is also given to 'Choices' shop, an ecumenical initiative within the town.
Joint services between most churches are held during Holy Week and the month of July.
The church is also part of a local youth initiative with charitable status within the town. Known as ‘Street Level’. It is a joint ecumenical initiative established by 4 Carluke churches in 1993 which has now grown to include all the churches of the town.
Service within and to the community has always been regarded as part of our mission and we consider the URC to be a “Town” church giving valuable service to the community.
